I’m currently experiencing a very frustrating verification issue with Wise.My funds are pending, but Wise refuses to accept certified ID copies while also not clearly confirming whether a South African temporary ID will be accepted. This leaves customers in a difficult position where money is effectively frozen with no clear resolution timeline.Support agents are polite, but there is no escalation path to the verification team, no manager contact, and no direct communication with the department handling compliance. I was simply told the funds may be returned to the sender if verification cannot be completed.For freelancers and international clients, this lack of clarity creates real financial stress. Verification requirements are understandable, but customers need clearer guidance, documented alternatives, and a proper escalation process.At the moment the experience feels very procedural with little customer support once an issue falls into compliance review.I hope Wise improves transparency and provides better guidance for users in countries where ID replacement can take months.
